What Is “Intentional Tort”?

Intentional tort is a type of personal injury case, but not all personal injury attorneys handle intentional torts.

“Intentional tort” refers to a case where there is intention behind the bad acts of the defendant. These are cases involving assault, battery, sexual assault, and more. These cases typically don’t involve any insurance. Instead, the defendant would be sued personally.

These cases are not always straightforward and the statute of limitations is only one year. That means there is a lot of work to be done in not a lot of time so you shouldn’t try to handle it on your own.

We handle intentional tort cases because it is important work that must be done to protect people. It’s one thing to go after someone who made a mistake and caused a crash. It is an entirely different feeling to go after someone who purposefully hurt another person and make sure they pay for what they did. We are proud to give our clients a voice and help them stand up for themselves and try to right the wrong that was done to them.
