I Pay My Insurance, So They Must Be on My Side

If the world worked like this, we wouldn’t have jobs anymore (but what a nice world that would be!) Even though you pay your premiums for your insurance, they are not on your side. Even if you and your family have had the same insurance for decades, they are not on your side. 

If an insurance company is talking to you, they are listening carefully for any information they can use in the future to pay you as little as possible. It doesn’t matter which insurance company it is. 

The general rule of thumb is that you should not provide any recorded statements to any insurance company involved. You should not discuss your injuries or your treatment. You should not send any copies of your records or bills. You should not sign any documents allowing them to obtain your records.
